Abstract
Se ha considerado un factor de riesgo para la obesidad la reducción del tiempo de descanso. Este ensayo comprobó que la prolongación del sueño redujo la ingesta de energía y dio lugar a un balance calórico negativo entre adultos con sobrepeso. Mejorar y mantener una duración del sueño saludable podría formar parte de los programas de prevención de la obesidad y de pérdida de peso.
Short sleep duration has been recognized as a risk factor for obesity. This trial found that sleep extension reduced energy intake and resulted in a negative energy balance in real-life settings among adults with overweight. Improving and maintaining healthy sleep duration could be part of obesity prevention and weight loss programs.
